Hookup for Ignition Switch light.

My 72 Dart did not come with the light group option, so I am trying to add many of these items. Where would I find the hookup for the ignition switch light to plug into? is it in the steering column itself, or elsewhere with a wire run up through the steering column? My mechanic had to pull the wheel today to make a steering adjustment so i asked him to hook it up, but he could not find the plug-in inside the column.
