I just converted my truck from lean burn to normal electronic ignition. Truck is running but the ballast resistor is ridiculously hot. To the point where it burns to touch it. Any ideas why? I am sure its not a good thing. Any ideas?

It's converting the extra electrical energy into heat energy.

Just checking to see that you did use a correct factory/aftermarket ballast resistor? Where did you mount it? Hopefully away from anywhere the high heat will affect! But yes, they do get HOT, thats whay they are built in ceramic like they are.
Gosh, back in the 80's I did a conversion on my then wife's 78 Dodge Magnum that had a 400 leanburn in it. I then put a slightly warmed over 440 in it so she could play with it at the track.
