Just decided the vin on my 64 Valiant wagon and found out its an LA built car. Were a lot of mopars built over there?

all my cars 70 and 71 are E code los Angeles cars.......i think in those years there are a lot around.

Yup, quite a few cars made there. '71 was the last year for the LA plant though. But for A-bodies they made Valiants ('60-71), Barracuda's ('64-66), and Dart's ('59-71). They also made the E-body Barracuda and Challenger, and the B body Coronet.

My GK6 '71 GT is a Los Angeles car.

LA had a small production plant compared to the others. If you want to compare approximate LA built numbers to the approximate Hamtramck built numbers for the 1970 model year cars, visit http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/LACarsInADay.shtml & then visit http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/hammyCarsInADay.shtml

I have researched cars from the 1970 model year for both plants for quite a while now. Sometime in or around May it appears that LA stopped producing E-bodies & started producing A-bodies instead. I know of very few 1970 LA A-bodies so far, so regardless of engine size or two or four door, I would love to hear from you if you have one.

I bought a 38k mile /6 four door 1970 LA built Dart about two weeks ago. It had a broadcast sheet in in for another one, so adding them in I know of 8 1970 LA built Darts so far.
