The girlfriend has a Ford Ecosport. She's been reporting exhaust smell in it for some time, and they found a crack in the manifold. No biggie, except that new manifolds are only sold with new catalytic converters so it's $800 part, and they are backordered. How backordered, you ask? 1,150 are currently backordered through Ford, and using an aftermarket piece causes check engine lights. That's clearly a big problem. How do defective product lawsuits get started? This is an EPA mandated part that also risks user safety. Thanks in advance JOS
