How do I wire reverse lights??

Trying to figure out how to wire the reverse lamps and the reverse dash light in my 68 notch. First off I am brutal at trying to figure out wiring so that does not help....lol
Car was originally a 318 auto with console. Now is a 383 (451) with a 4-speed. I purchased just about everything from Brewers. The plug/harness that goes on the tranny fitting has two wires coming out with spaded ends on them and another wire pigtailed off that. Wiring schematic says the two spades go to the C and D terminals on the wiper motor on the bulk head connector, But I have no wires going in or coming out of those locations on my bulkhead???? Is there another place I can hardwire into to?? And what hooks up the the pigtailed wire, the wire from the reverse light on the dash???

Hope I explained myself properly.

That is also the info I found in the diagrams at "My Mopar." 67 still had the reverse switch on the shift linkage instead of the transmission, I'm wondering if a few of the 68's weren't the same way, depending on options


So do you have any of the console wiring?



the 68 -69 diagrams both show C and D but the 67 diagram shows F and H (syncro mesh). Anything hooked to them, and what colors?


The 67 diagram shows what you MIGHT have--a three wire harness going to the console, with orange, white, and violet. Orange was for the shift quadrant lamp White/ violet was for the backup lamps Violet ends up at the plug in the left quick panel, feeds back to the rear to the lamps It shows that if you instead had a stick, the white/ violet fed out through F and H so the harness could drop down to the transmission.

White seems to pick off power from the wiper switch. If you can't find that, ANY power you can handily get to should work OK, it just needs to be switched on/off so the lamps aren't always "hot."
