Hi folks. I finally found some seats for my 70 Duster to replace my broken up plain Jane black bench seats.

they are ultra-cool highbacks from a 74 Dart, and are white. They include the center armrest/buddy seat. My buddy who sold them to me took them out of the 74 Dart years back. He remembered(wrongly I think) that the buddy seat attaches to the bucket seats. It looks to be a separate mounting somehow, no place to put them on the seat bases!

I looks like it attaches with 4 bolts, 2 on the sides near the back and 2 up front. Did he forget to take this bracket out back when removing the seats or was it welded onto the hump maybe?

Can this bracket be made or should I just attach the buddy seat directly to the hump? I figure it'll be a hard piece to just find out there somewhere??

Thanks for any info.

My '72 had the same "buddy seat." I think it is attached with four brackets mounted on the hump. Hope this helps.

You are correct in that seat is attached to 2 brackets which are spot welded to the hump. The rear bracket is a shallow U-shaped bracket; the front is sort of an upside down T bracket where the top (or bottom of the T in this case) follows the contour of the hump. The brackets are roughly 1/8th inch thick in order to support the seat and a person sitting there. If you are handy at fabricating, you probably can make something that'll work.
