When you got your safety inspection done in the old days, they would check your headlights to see if they were aimed properly. I seem to remember that it was done with a machine dragged over to your car and lifted up to the light beam. Does no one do that anymore?

I would like to check the aim on Aaron's headlights. How do you do it properly?

One way I've heard that is common is to park your facing your garage door, turn your headlights on and adjust them so that the light on the door is to the top edge of the second panel from the bottom. hope that helps

You need the info from the service manual from your car. For my 72 duster its in the separate "Body" book. It said to park facing a wall (if memory serves me it was 20 feet) and turn the lights on. It'll show you a diagram of where the light should be hitting. I'm sure that the diagrams and stuff are different for the different body styles and years. If you want the 72 figures, I can dig them out for you.
