Ok guys,

I'm new at this part of the game. I'm going to rebuild my \6 and that means taking it out of the bay. Problem is, i've never done that to a car with AC before. Is there a special way I should do it to prevent Freon from ripping up my hands/engine or is it okay just to un couple all those hoses as I please.

I know it's probably a dumb question but thanks in advance.

im not a tree hugger or anything, but its really bad for the environment. besides that, if you somehow magically get caught by the wrong person, you can get some nasty fines. id just play it safe and have the system evacuated by a professional shop. hell, maybe theyll even do it for cheap since theyre just going to recycle the freon anyways. good luck...

you may be able to unbolt everything and put the compressor to the side while you yank the motor, been a while since I pulled a /6. That way you leave all the hoses connected.
