How to move Rear back for clearence?

So my current set up is SS leafs relocated to the frames.. I'm building a dana for my car and wanting to run a 29-29.5" tire but they will hit the front part of the fender (I think)... The paint is already done on the car so bending the wheel well is last option....

Im going with the caltrac and mono leafs.. can i just redrill the holes 3/4"-1" back on the box and rear hanger to move the entire rear back so it wont hit the fender?

I don't see why that would not work just fine. Just need to make your drive shaft a little longer.

I was told on BBD that if I'm only moving the rear back 3/4" then I only need to drill the front box and not the shackle i can leave that in place... Does this sound right?

More than likely you'll be ok. You want the rear shackles at a 90 to the frame rail or slightly angled forward with the car on the ground.

Plus you may be ok with it right there. I had the same set up you have on my Q-16 71 Scamp and ran 29.5 x 10.5W x 15 and they cleared

maybe i'm missing something in your set up but i know on my 68 barracuda i was able to just drill another locating hole in the shock plate about 3/4 of an inch and just pulled my rear end back that far and relocated the ss spring pin in the new hole i drilled in the plate. that gave me plenty of room in front of the rear tire and everything lined up ok. hope this helps

That can't work because the leaf spring center bolt head goes in the leaf spring perch. You would have to drill the pearches too.

I'm just gonna try and drill a hole 3/4" back in the relocation box 1st then see if I can get those mono leafs in that way........

drill your holes further back and weld washers on the offset sections to reinforce the holes or theyre gonna waller out. shackle bolts take a hard hit. are you using poly or aluminum spring grommets?

Sgbarracuda Is Correct You Would Also Need To Drill The Spring Perch For Everything To Line Up. My U-bolts Lined Up Just Fine And I Have Been Driving It This Way For About 1500 Miles With No Issues.much Easier This Way. Give It A Look Can't Hurt
