Have a 69 Dart 340 4-speed that I want to detail the engine, engine bay and go over the front suspension. I have always removed the engine from up top but I am being told the best way to do this is by dropping the engine and k-frame together from the bottom especially if you have a hoist and I do.
My question is how is this done, what all do I need to remove/seperate etc etc. A step by step would be great

Thanks
Derrick

I think most of them drop engine, K, and trans together.
If you want to move the engine forward away from transmission and torsion bars before lowering... You'll need to remove the radiator, fan, and drill the rivets out of the splash guards on the frame rails. Trans cooler lines too if its automatic.
Bottom line... Lots of different methods but none are really easy.

Pulled mine from the bottom. Disconnect torsion bars, wiring, tranny cooler lines, radiator (not really required but I did just in case), driveshaft, steering coupler, and that was about it. Remove the 4 K member bolts and the trans crossmember and she slides right out. This was the first time I have ever removed an engine but it went a lot better coming out the bottom than I think it would have coming out the top. Some pics of my attempt are towards the middle of the thread.
