I'm trying to replace the flexible disk brake hoses on my 67 Dart. I have included two pics of the mounting bracket that the hose connects to. I can't figure out how to unhook the rubber hose? Taking the metal brake line off no sweat. I have correct replacement hoses that have a c shaped clip on them. I can see the clip on then underside of the bracket but haven't tried to unhook. I looked in my 67 dodge service manual but it doesn't go into specifics on removal of hoses. Any help greatly appreciated.

  • Yank the “horseshoe” clip on top of the bracket. It slips into slot on end of brake hose. The C clip included on the new hose sandwitches between the mount and acts as a backer to keep hose secure.
  • Clips look like these:

Yes!, don't need to mess with the C clip, a pair of channel locks should give you the leverage to get the horseshoe clips off. Sometimes they can be really tight.

Loosen nut on line first. I use large vise grips and a twisting motion to pull clip.small tappey tappey to install.
