FYI 8 3/4 axles are each the same length as well.

Rather than a gasket between brake backing plate and housing flange how about just some sealer. The gasket moves the axle flange outward, albeit a very small amount?

Sorry if I missed it, but do you have a part number(s) for the bearings themselves? Or, are replacement bearing & seal kits available? I have the 7 1/4 rear end with 9” brakes, 4” bolt pattern.
Thanks!
FWIW, I replaced an axle bearing on a 7.25 twice over and the bearings didn't last more than 1000 miles. One was National brand and the other was a part store brand but both were made in China. After that I put a junkyard axle shaft in it with a good bearing. I should have gone with a Japanese or USA bearing to begin with.
Same story, different day.....
