Guys,

While working on the Demon tonight, I noticed the steering box was loose. The car has a 360 with headers and I do not have the right tools to get around the headers to the bolts to tighten them. I'm wondering how you guys do it and what specific tools you use, so I can go buy them. I've done this on a car with manifolds, but the headers are throwing me.

Thanks !

I've used some long extensions with swivel joints to get at mine while snaking around the header tubes.

And some anti-inflamatories for the back after your done! Getting to the one on the bottom involves some laying on the concrete under the car if you don't have access to a lift.

I used varying combiniations of wobbled extensions when replacing my gearbox. But in the end I had to loosen the header to get access on one of the bolts...Not horrible, but as noted, that concrete floor is mighty uncomfortable...

Thanks, I ain't as young as I used to be. I know this is going to hurt.

It all hurts anymore. It hurts to get of of bed. This old cars are quick to draw blood. lol. But not that many people have one.
