Hi guys

Need a little help here. Last year I went to the moster mopar weekend and bought what the guy told me was a 69 BB cuda K frame to stick in my 71 dart to put in my 440. Got to looking at both motor and K member and noticed that the motor mount possion on both are not even close. my motor mounts sit across form eatch other and my k member they are stagered. What gives do I have a 68 cuda BB k member or was I given the wrong info? If so what would be the best way to suff my motor in my car?

Please Help

Preston

I have a 440 in my original 383-S Fastback. The drivers side bracket (that the rubber insulator attaches to) is completely different than other mopars. The bracket actually attaches to the front on the block and the front ear of the normal motor mount position. Thus the mount is forward of the passenger side at least 3-4 inches. If you would like, I can send you a picture of the mount.

It is easy and convienient to use a motor plate, or better yet, elephant ears. I have a pair. Wanna sell that k-frame?

you may try calling shumacher and explain the same thing to him.seeing how this is his business he should be able to give you the best fix that will make you happy

That looks right- your block has to have threaded bosses in the front just above the oil pump to mount to. Some big blocks don`t have them.If the bosses are there they can be drilled and tapped. I believe Laysons has the factory style mounts, but as everything else they`re not cheap. One was on Ebay last week ,it may still be running.
