Did they number handles, ever?

Well, I have Passon's transmission book and he states the '69-'71 A-body non-console is stamped 7036. The '69 console version was 6340. The late '68 A-body console was 45496. So, according to him, yeah, they did number handles.

I pulled it and looked and there is no number.

I haven't come up with much. The only thing definitive that I could find was that style Inland four-speed shifter was used in 1977 only. But as an owner of a a 1977 Volare` (bought new) that shift handle doesn't look like what I had. As to your handle, can't find a thing. Does it have HURST stamped on it? And if so, is it the single line stamp like the '68 handles or the double line stamp like the '69 and newer handles have?

No markings. Its just what's been in it the 20yrs I've had it. I had some later 70's stuff...a lot of which I've sold off. Still going through it.
