Hi there.

Does anyone have a really good, clear bottom view of an OEM style Hurst 4-speed shifter? The one I received won't allow the reverse throw to move more than 1/4", and I have a feeling that one of the shims is in the wrong place. I want to compare mine to another. Specifically, I'd like to see a diagram or close-up photo showing a view into the guts from the bottom without the inspection plate.

The shifter is a Competition Plus model. That was the factory installed model. The Hurst web site may have what you need.

I looked real quick and didn't find much. If it helps, it does not matter which make or model car it is off of. The shifter mechanism is the same regardless. So that gives you a little more info to choose from.

The Hurst/Mr. Gasket has almost no information at all. Luckily, I finally managed to find something that may be of help to others who are in the process of a Hurst shifter rebuild. It's at this Ford forum:
