Looking for opinions regarding HushMat's effectiveness keeping engine bay heat out of the cabin. Is the heat reduction considerably noticeable to be worth the time and effort? If so, would just the firewall kit (HUT-661642) be sufficient or should I go the entire floor kit route (HUT-661641)?

These types of butyl mats slow down the heat transfer, but their main purpose if to stop panel resonnation. It basically slows down the heat transfer.

If you really want to block heat, noise and fumes, use the above and a double foil-sided, jute mat, and tape up all the seams with that aluminum foil duct tape.

Noted. Just looking for heat block. Instead of using butyl mats along with the items you listed, could I just use the double sided sheets in the link you provided?

I've alway thought of trying Lizard Skin spray on Car insulation Coating for Thermal or Heat Protection. Automotive Heat Protection - LizardSkin Insulation

While I've yet to try it yet it's suppose to reduce interior temperatures 30 degrees or more and you can spray it inside or under the car.

looks like a solid option. In my case, looking for the easiest solution by pulling the carpet, slapping something down and hit the road.

Yes, you could. It's less expensive that the butyl mat. The trick is to get it up as high on the floor as you can, tape the seams and put your carpet back. You can also double layer it.
