I bought the 73 340 for $250.

I bought a 73 340 short block with a small chip out of the inside of #4 cylinder. I had a couple of mechanics look at it and they think if i hone it i can rering it and it will be ok. Time will tell.
What compression were the 73s and is the stock cam a lot milder than the one that came with my 69 340 barracuda. My 69 was a 4 speed and i think it was different than the autos of that year.
I have the heads from a 78 360 that i bought a while ago i plan to use them on the 340 unless i find a good deal on x or j heads. This will go in my 67 fastback.

They will have to sleeve it if it's all the way through, but if it is a virgin bore and it isn't yes it could possibly be honed out.

I would have it magnafluxed just to make sure there isn't any cracks or damage elsewhere.
