ok so when i went from 318 with ac to my new rebuilt 360 w/o ac i am still working on the belt and pully set up. i believe the power steering is all set up correct just bolted to the head. it appears to line up with the crank pulley to. now the wierd part

i got the brackets from a mopar guy. one is a 3 hole triangle bracket that bolts to the water pump and thru the alternator to the head. i had to space that bracket between the water pump and the bracket. it also has the alignment bracket that seems correct. it only bolts one one spot on the water pump.

so all that might be right. it seems good enough. now i can not find a pulley to work with this set up. i think one that is 6" wide and 3" deep with 2 belt spots on it would work. what are all your set ups? i have asked this before and thought i had it right lol. i feel retarted lol. i can do a conversion to 4 speed and a motor swap and cant figure out simple pulleys lol if any one can help please do lol

It should look something like this.

Not sure, but it looks like you're gettin' there. Why wouldn't your old pully work?

i thought it would to but it has appeared to lin up with the power steering but not the alt. i will get it all together and see and take some pics

ok so it looks like that worked:) now i need a water pump pulley. i need it to be about 2 3/4" deep and like 6" wide. it needs two 'ribs' on it fro alt and ps. i could really use a crank pulley to but might be able to make do without lol. so if you have one that you would sell let me know. thanks

The routing for these belts is the following: single belt going around the Alt, fan, and crank. The water pump should be a single groove pulley, double groove on the alt works okay just use the back groove.

If you have a water pump pulley with two grooves - its from a later model mopar like an M body, our 87 fury has two grooves on the water pump pulley one went for the air pump and the other goes around the power steering pump and crank.

On the older set ups - If you have power steering - it runs off the crank directly, and does not touch the water pump.

What you are missing is the correct water pump pulley, which will be a single groove and be set back far enough for the back groove of a double alt pulley to line up with and one of the grooves on the crank pulley. This pulley should also be pretty large - probably about 6-7 inches in diameter.

ok. that is what my friend let me borrow to see if it would work and it did. but i could not find one at the junk yard. so i found one from a '80s power ram. it is 2 groove and they line up with crank and alt for one and crank and power steering. so i got it bolted on and it seems to work great. it gives the waterpump more contact area with belts so i like it but if it wont work i would like to know lol.

i just about had it started today but found out i have a bad starter relay lol. it was good a few months ago but not now. when i took it off i forgot to disconnect the battery lol so the wires got together and made a lil spark, crank and us all jump lol. it was funny but told us it was the relay lol

um, duh...

About the car. My Crank Pulley has 2 grooves

1 Long one for Water and Alt off the back pulley I believe
1 Small one for the Power Steering off the front pulley
(back)
Alt - Water
(front) -Steer
-Crank -

My car is currently dissasembled but that is how I remember it...
Spacing the Alternator Bracket was the trick part. I used a bunch of Washers. I will probably Machine a Spacer one day to clean it up. Or use a bunch of Quarters for cool factor instead. I do not have the cool "Bent" style alternator mounting brackets that are designed to phase this out...
