My engine builder gave me an email today with some progress pics. It's exciting to see but makes me realize I need to get my butt in gear with my engine bay!

Also wondering what a good carb choice would be. This is a 40 over 440 509 comp cam, 2.14 valves roller rockers, supposed to be 10:1 compression. Edelbrock or holley?

Whichever your comfortable tuning. If Eddie go AVS. If Holley buy a Quick Fuel, I also hear the Proform carbs are decent.

Put layer of wax on the air cleaner if its chrome or rust will start.

I'm ditching the valve covers and air cleaner for this stuff. I was thinking avs 750. These are iron heads. I don't remember the casting number.

The air cleaner lid looks slightly familiar lol ...

Glad to hear you nixed those fabbed valve covers. Every set that's showed up here had light showing through the welds.

U have offset rockers. They won’t work on a stock head. U need the rockers that don’t have any offset. Like this. Kim

it could just be the way they look in the picture but, I agree they do look like offset rockers ( max wedge style, indy ect )

Steve, Look at the 2nd rocker from the end. The little notch on the end rockers is to clear the valve cover. Kim

Says the heads are 346 but also has a set of 452 he could use. He says he has used the offset rockers with no problem in the past. Uses 3/8 pushrods and the crank and rods are balanced.
