If you have been following my plight....my brand new orange box ECU unit was no good. I ended up going to the local auto parts store and got a black box one. (the brand was a sorenson and the part number was el110 i think) I think it would be like for a 72 model. the car started right up but won't run for very long. It acts like it is under load. I can get the rpms up past maybe 1000 and it backfires. Now this motor was dyno test and the distributor hasn't been moved so I don't think it is timeing. (although it sounds like it) does anybody know anything about these ECU boxes. It is possible that it is the problem??? what a bummer, i was hoping to have it running this weekend.

also how old is the distributor. my PW did something similar last year and i found out my distributor pickup plate was shot. just an idea
