I started picking up the parts I am going to need for my blower engine. I have been all over the map on what I was going to build.

This is what I have locked myself into. I picked up a 340 on the weekend and this is what I will be basing my engine on.

68 340 block presently standard bore
a set of "X" heads that have been worked on but probably need seals due to sitting so long, they have adjustable rockers.
new timing set
new solid flat tappets
new water pump
new HV oil pump
new gasket set
set of pushrods

I think the crank and cam are toast for my purposes.
the 10.5 to 1 pistons and rods won't work with what I want to do.

So now I will have to pick up a forged crank, H-beam rods and forged pistons and try to end up with a 7.5/8.0 to 1.0 compression ratio, and a cam that works well with everything else. I will probably limit my boost to 8 psi with a 6/71 blower and dual 650 to 750 carbs.

Now the fun part starts.
