Had off today, so was wrenching on this thing at 7:30 this morning.
The Old Chieftain is good to go.
If this water pump goes out when I still own it, it will mysteriously burn to the ground, while I conveniently have everything out of it for cleaning.
The yellow coolant jug is my new catch can for radiator over spill. The original developed a crack.. hmm, might be why I ran low on coolant, getting it hot, and trashing the water pump.. so this is my jerry rig for now, bungee corded in and all. I was gonna paint it black quick, but the kid laughed when he saw me come around the corner.. "I love I can see that yellow jug!".. so it stays for now.
On the road bright and early tomorrow for a reunion.
Miss my '76 Dodge camper. So much easier to work on.
