i need a new harmonic balancer bolt and washer. i would rather get a brand spankin new shiney one lol but if someone has a nice one with a nice washer i would be interested. i just dont know where to get one lol. i know its a lil part and its kinda wierd but it is keepin me from drivin the scamp. i also need to chase or retap the threads in the crank. they are not to bad but need to clean them up and all.

i forgot how to instal a balancer and just used the bolt to pull it in and it didnt catch enough threads at first and messed up the bolt bad and a few threads in the crank:( i wish i could blame it on someone else lol o well

I picked one up at my local Ace hardware...grade 8...forget the thread size and length...was about $5

MOPAR Performance Has Them..You need to get one for your Engine Application(LA,B-R/B,etc)..They are Grade 10 MASONED Bolts and washers I believe.AND the Washer Concave is UPSIDE Down(Curve Side goes Toward Head to keep pressure against it when tightened).
Whenever I Install a Damper i Put It On and Then Take an Old Oak 2x6 I Have and Drive It In until I Hear it SEAT.Then install your bolt with an Impact Gun...

ok sweet. i think my boss has a instalation tool. the motor is in the car so i dont have to much access just enough to get a impact in lol

ALSO:
You SHOULD be able to take a PICK and clean out the Threads of the Crank as it is HARDER than the Bolt Even..

fluidampr balancers require the longer m/p bolt

I Thought he was using a Stock Small Block Damper..
That IS Correct Daredevil.ALSO The Dampers I Use(ATI Aluminum Shell,Aluminum Hub 7 1/4")Need the Longer LA Bolt and then Cut Down 1/2 Inch or so..ALSO When Installing any of these Dampers Make Sure you Put Never-Seize On the Crank AND Inside the HUB...
I Have Had WAY Too Many Problems with The Fluidamper And Knock Offs As They Are 7 1/2" and that 1/4" Extra Will Hit The Water Pump Housing of You Dont Know what Ypu Are doing AND on an already Installed Water Pump..
