I am rebuilding a '68 Charger 8-3/4" rear end. When bought, it only had backing plates and badly rusted drums - no brake hardware at all.

First, how do I determine the proper brake size to buy?
Second, where is a good place to get all new brake hardware (springs, cables, etc.)?

Thanks,
Jerry

Brakes should be 10X2 1/2" since the only other option was an 11" and was used mainly on cop cars and wagons. To make sure, measure the diameter of your backing plates. If you come up with something in the 10 1/2" range they are 10" brakes. The drums, hardware kits, shoes, and wheel cylinders are still available at your corner parts store. The e-brake levers and spreader bars are hard to find new but can be found in a junkyard pretty easy. Look for any '76-'80s F, J, M body car or Dakota. You can use the e-brake cables that are on the car.

I got all my stuff at NAPA. Not sure about the e brake cables, mine were ok. Go to napaonline.com and check out the site.
