shift points were 48-52K rpm. i installed A&A governor kit and shifts moved up to 68000. removed the aluminum spool (replaced with original steel one), and kept the aluminum inner weight to try and reduce shift point. Still too high. have throttle pressure adjusted so as to have just a little slack in the Lokar kick down cable ,that i have set up to travel same distance as throttle shaft on carb. looking for input here but my impression is that i need to reduce line pressure on the valve body. Would like shift point at 6000ish. highstall torque converter is 3800/4000

I know with my Lokar cable on my Challenger it has way more "slack" then you would think to make it shift where I want it.

It sounds like he changed the springs in the governor. You have to be careful playing with the line pressure or you could get it to low and burn it up.

I would go back to your transmission guy and have him adjust the shift points. He built it, he should adjust it.
