I have a 318 in my tow truck,i need to up the torque on it some, without tearing into it.It was built for an abody years ago,but i couldnt find one then.Once the 318 crapped out in my truck, the engine went in it to get me by,until i can find a 360 for it.It has an antique edelbrock streetmaster intake on it now,i know its not designed for torque, but it does have awsome midrange, and milage for a heavy truck, pulling a car.I have a 71 iron 340 intake, for a thermoquad, and a another old edelbrck aluminum intake that is a dual plane.Wich of these 2 intakes would be the best choice for what i want to do right now.It has 302 casting heads that are gasket mated to 340 intake gaskets,so id have to gasket match the old eddy intake for it to work. The engine will be coming out,and going into my wifes 73 dart, once i find a 360 to replace it,so i really dont want to go into changing the cam right now.I do also need advice on a torque converter for this thing also,i think the cam is mild enough to idle smooth if the timing is bumped up a little,i have a 2500 stall in it now,not what i need for lowend puling power in a tow truck.
