Laysons (there's that word again.......) sells a reproduction for $45. Don't know if it looks quite the same but it serves the same purpose.

Yeah, Frank Mitchell is a piece of work, or at least he used to be. I haven't dealt with him in YEARS.

I have bought a couple of things off of him here recently and they have been as good or better than described. Frank is a good guy and loves the hobby and Mopars.....the guy wnet around and bought up parts inventories of a lot of dealerships cause they were throwing out the old parts. He had a vision that these would be worht some money later on and he dang near ruined his family for this venture and in the end it has paid off. Has he made mistakes in the past......probably but he's got a lot off good stuff for okay prices but you get what you pay for. At least with him you are getting a genuine Mopar part not a knock off that some place like Layson MIGHT send to you.

Well I would rather deal with Frank then Laysons at least you have achance to get something from Frank.

Laysons like Adam said "if they got it"

No I mean at Layson, LOL

Well, $50 for a gas cap is alot of money. But thats also vs. the stant caps on the shelf. Not to mention that some cars just do not use off the shelf stant caps. That would preety stupid where a flip top used to be. But a guess sealed is sealed when your in a pinch. Not a resto though.

It could be worse. You could only find one in 10 years of looking and be charged $100. I do know people that greedy. Snobbish bastards think it's better than air when your locked out of the space ship.

Look at the auction picture carefully: This locking cap fits INSIDE the filler neck, UNDER the flip top lid! My car looks dead stock, but when you flip open the fuel cap there's a locked cap inside the filler neck. THAT'S why these damn things are so expensive.

Gottcha. I was thinking more along the lines of a flip to Cuda/Charger style model on , lets say, a Scamp. Not so much a locking cap under the flip top.

Those locking caps were a great moneys saver back in the day of the gas crisiss when it was $2.00 a gallon and the ave. pay was less than half of what we make now.

I remember people getting caught switching plates for the odd/even days.
