ID "new" MP disty

I'm going to look at a used MP disty for a SB. Is there an easy way to identify the "new" MP disty that has the adjustable mechanical advance? I've read that it has torx screws that hold the advance plate/weights. Can these be seen after removing the cap & rotor? Or do you ahve to remove the pickup as well?

just remove the cap and look down on each sdie of where the rotor sits you should see them down under the outer plate.

Yes, you should be able to see this through the holes in the pickup plate.
