i met a guy today who works at a towing place and he told me he has a dodge truck with a 318 or 360 in it how can i tell the difference on 318 340 360 motors do i have to check block # or is there a easier way to identify right away truck is a 82 bye the way 4speed

On the drivers side of the block above the starter location you'll see the engine size cast into the block.

another way is on the drivers side, front of the block, below the head the engine size is stamped.
