According to turbo action you can just remove the spring from the accumulator piston. If you search installation instruction Turbo Action 17156 there is a step-by-step instruction it even shows' a picture that states to remove accumulator springs.

I would maybe call Turbo Action.
 
do you need to block the accumulator piston on a 727?
You can block it, but don’t necessarily need to. Up to you on how you want it to shift, harder or softer. If you don’t want it to shift like a race trans, keep spring out and don’t block it.
