Got some projects done this past week. And just in time for the Glamis season too:cheers: Got dad's sand car over to the tuner the other day. It did well. We need to brake in the motor a little more and take it back. It did 463 to the ground That is 680 at the crank with the 32% or so drive train loss. Should do more when we take it back. I am hoping for at least 475 to ground. That will be 700 to the crank:-D Should be fun. Got the Rapter back together too. Had the motor built with a 730 big bore kit. Just braking it in so I have not gone a lot past 1/4 throttle but I can tell it is going to be fast:snakeman: I can't wait to get back out there to the sand!

Well I know I took pic's after we finished them but I can't find them. Mabby I did not down load them of the camera. I will do that when I get home and put them up.

I've never been to Glammis, but I went to Gordon's Well 2 years ago, that has to be the most insane motorsports activity I've ever seen. Climbing a 600 foot 3:1 slope at 1 AM....saw a sand car with a twin turbo Cadillac Northstar engine, carry a wheelie all the way up the side of this sandhill, spin around at the top, and ride another one back down!
Sorta makes a Superstock car look boring!
Needless to say, I had a blast!
Have fun, but be safe! These pics are my buddy Jerry, just before he came down and broke 2 of his lower vertebrae at Glammis. He walked with assistance out of the hospital after only 7 days, and is doing very well these days, back to work and everything. Easy to get hurt out there!

Ya it is a lot of fun but you have to be very carful out there. Looks like he was trying to jump the olds dubble? He is a crazzzy man if so. The olds dubble is a 100+ foot jump and the lanch pad is way lower than the landing pad! I was there when Robby Gordin was jumping it one time with his trophy truck it was cool. Then the BuckShot guy coms around in one of his X-5's to show off. Well he came up realy short and brock his back. I for one would never hit that jump. It is insain!

I am not sure of the exact location, as I wasn't there. Jerry told me that how it happened was odd, the accident happened the second time he jumped. The landing wasn't hard at all, his girlfriend was riding shotgun and wasn't the slightest bit injured. Maybe he had a bad back and never knew it.
Could just be his luck, he broke his collarbone the year I went to Gordon's Well with him! Showing off riding a quad around the rim of a bowl.
That weekend I went was a slow one, only 500 people went to the hospital that weekend!

Time of the year for flipped over toy haulers all along the 10... LOL

I will have to take somw pic's of the sand car. I will put them up later. I do have some pic's of the Rapter though. It came together fast. Only took a night and a afternoon to get back together.

My son finally got off the four wheeler and put some roll bars around him.
WFZ450 Yamaha and filled his room with trophies and broke his back.:angry7:
Know he races with roll bars around his butt in open wheel modified for his self and drives for two other folks, I have to say he is good and has a good bunch around him.
The first picture is when he raced 125 class moto.
The third is when he was racing the four wheeler.
He sure stays busy with everyones cars in his shop.
He likes the dirt and keeps him happy, I am glad he got off the bikes, I worried to much about him.

Very nice memike. Nice modified. I would like to do that one day. or mabby even a hobby or street stocker would be cool. There is a 1/4 dirt track not far from here in Paris. so mabby one day. LOL

Be careful, I got hooked on the dirt track for 7 years and nothing can replace it. We have two tracks close by, one is 7 miles away and the other is 21. My best year was 4th in champion ship point one year in street stock.
That has been 10 year ago when the Dr's took me and my bones out of that
kind of a race car, Know its all 1/8 mile in my life and cruising.

Here is some pic's of my G-pas old sand drag buggy. It has a 2180 VW making 200 HP. And it only is 780 pounds. Don't let the looks fool you. This thing is scary quick. though very unsafe but that was how it was back then. Every thing was sacrificed to shave pounds off including driver safty.

Got out to glamis this week end:cheers: Had a lot of fun. The bike ran like a monkey with it's balls cut off and dad said the buggy ran like a rapped ape. So ya we had fun lol. Pic's to come.

I did not make it out this last weekend but Dad did. Was over on www,glamisdunes.com and saw some one had put these pics of him up at the sand drags popping a sky wheelie:snakeman:
