well im about to paint my duster's grille... ive already seen the forum of what looks good, and i decided to go for a look like our fellow member Briankaplan... he sent me a few private messages and i decided that after seeing his i want to do mine... did anyone who painted theirs have any trouble with the paint peeling off? anyone do anything different? what ive heard would be to paint the grille in silver, similar paint to the 70 340 duster grilles, and then tape off the fins facing out, and spray bomb it black. resulting in a better looking grille, in my opinion. bottom line is peeling issues. anyone ever experience peeling? how to prevent it etc. etc. my duster is always garage kept, and never sees snow, but some occasional rain... any ideas? thanks a lot!

wash it real good with a long bristled brush a scotcthbrite pad and comet powder, wetsand all the areas that you can and scotchbrite it again, front and rear of it,let it all dry thoroghly, then wipe it all down with prep sol and dry it,then spray it with "bulldog" it is an adhesion promotor, you can also add it to your paint, then spray the grille with the color of your choice , then using a high quality automotove masking tape...tape off the areas you wish to remain silverthen spray the entire grille black or whichever colors you desire, then you can pull all of the tape off and clearcoat it,if you want the flat colors you can use a flattening agent in the clearcoat,I went for the shiny look.hope this is helpful

i just repainted my sharkstooth...heres a tip....take the WHOLE.. bottle of aspirin......lie down on the couch.....and wait for the feeling to go away... looks great..

I did mine a few years back. It is keep out side. Just used a rattle can to paint it. Still looks good. No cracking or peeling at all. Just prep the part well then prime and then paint.
