my grandma wouldn't tell us what nationality that we were. She just told us that we were "american".
My great-great grandpa was in california during the gold rush. There is a copy of a letter that he wrote home to the east coast describing an encounter he had that ended up getting printed in the newspaper. It is framed and hanging on the wall of my brother's house.
Thats really cool, and I like the pure unadulterated history of it.
I have some neat old pics of my Grandfather when he was Sherrif and I have the Police Special he was wearing in the picture.
Also one of his Sherrif patches and little gold colored metal badge (like for a hat I think)
His last name was Bass, and my Fathers name was Sam Bass and he was law enforcement so we have a little history there.
I doubt it is as close as being related or anything like some try to make out though.![]()
