My grandma wouldn't tell us what nationality that we were. she just told us that we were "American".

My great-great grandpa was in California during the gold rush. There is a copy of a letter that he wrote home to the east coast describing an encounter he had that ended up getting printed in the newspaper. It is framed and hanging on the wall of my brother's house.

Thats really cool, and I like the pure unadulterated history of it.
I have some neat old pics of my Grandfather when he was Sherrif and I have the Police Special he was wearing in the picture.
Also one of his Sherrif patches and little gold colored metal badge (like for a hat I think)
His last name was Bass, and my Fathers name was Sam Bass and he was law enforcement so we have a little history there.
I doubt it is as close as being related or anything like some try to make out though. :-)

Yes the right way. I knew an Italian family and the dad was very strict about doing things the American way. My friend couldn't speak Italian outside of the house.

Its just what I HAVE, BUT DAD TRACED OUR HISTORY BACK TO THE 1300'S BY VISITING PLACES. ANCESTORY.COM WARREN BRENNER.

For some reason Sam Bass sounds familiar!

Very nice. I am sure everyone who went through Ellis Island and their families are not happy about the current situation either.
