Indy Valley plate question.

I Bought a used indy valley plate. My question is can I use it on my 440 with 906 heads? I did a mock up and it looks like it will but I have heard some people say you can't.

The intake base of the head on production heads is notched in several places. Aftermarket typically have a straight base for that indy plate to seal against. It'll be a good piece when you get your aluminum heads.

I don't think so. The Indy heads sit higher than the deck and the plate fits between them. Hard to explain with words I guess.

The first question that came to my mind was was?Why
Then I came to the conclusion that you were going to use the 2 piece unit and then it made sense.
