for those of you that have done a mini tube on your 70-71 dart swingers and shortened your 8 3/4 housing and moved your leaf springs to the frame what is the distance from center perch to center perch on your housing? would i be ok with setting my pinion angle at 5-7 degrees with Calvert split mono leafs -1'' any info would be very much appreciated Thanks in advance Dave

The stock location center to center is 43". Subtract what you moved them in and that's your number.
Pinion angle varies on how much power your putting out, how, manual vs automatic, and use of the car. 2-4 degrees down is safe. Search around, in fact there is a recent post on this:

Calvert recommends pinion angle of 3-5 down, IIRC. Call Travis to verify.
Pinion angle is one of the last things I do on a car I put together. Need it loaded at driving/race weight with driver for best results.
Perches end up right at 36-36.5" when in the frame rail/relo boxes.

I put my boxes on the inside of the rails (left the outside of the frame rails) and I think mine ended up at 35 inches but I'll double check.... DTM
