Installing door lock cylinder issue

Ok new day and new problem. My door lock cylinders don't want to go in the holes. Perhaps I just need to sand the paint and primer or is there a 'trick'?
ps had to remove the rear vertical track for the second time so I could hook up the linkage.

I had this issue once the car was painted. Take a close look at the opening. They came out of that opening, right? Check for the build up of primer and paint and if needed carefully sand/file the opening just to remove the excess coating.

I had to file quite a bit out of the hole and slots but its in now. Thanks!
