Installing vent windows HOW?

I sent my parts for the vent window to be chromed. They had a piece of black rubber looking stuff that was dry rotted that apparently held the glass in the frame. Anyone know what this was and where I can get it?

Maybe check with the auto glass replacement people in your area. Did you save a sample to match?
