I need to remove my instrument cluster on my 72 Duster. Looks simple enough.

1. Remove the 4 screws and the cover panel just below the dash.

2. Remove the 4 bolts that should allow me to lower the steering shaft.

3. Remove the 6 screws from the cluster.

4. Disconnect the connectors on the back side and out she should come.

The battery disconnect is really the first step.

Did I miss anything?

don't forget the speedometer!

OK, almost there but the cluster will not pull out far enough so I can reach the back side. Are the electrical and speedo cables really that short? :-(

If I remember speedo cable should come off before trying to remove cluster , it is short . think it unscrews . Should be able to get it by reaching up under dash . Good luck I;ll be doing same changing circuit board as soon as it arrives
