I'm looking for the options to upgrade the intake on my 65 273 4bbl. Both of these seem to be popular options, but both are hard to find. I expect to keep the stock heads, so I would need an intake that works with this size.

Thanks

I ran an Offy High Rise 5699 on a 64 Barracuda with a warm 273. Offy made a few other manifolds for the 64-65 273 heads. the 5489 low rise, 5748 high rise TQ, 5609 low rise TQ, and a couple dual port manifolds. I have not run any but the 5699, but it ran very good with my combination. The D4B was Chryslers' upgrade back in the day. From the offy, I went to a stock 71 TQ and manifold and 360 heads. Good Luck.

Catalog - Offenhauser

Awesome - thanks for the great reply. I don't suppose you have any pictures of the 273 with the high rise? That had to be cool.

I'll have to look, that was back in the 70's, so it would be a real picture. It worked quite well with a Holley 600 or the original AFB, about the same power to weight as a stock 383 Road Runner.
