interior A pillar

how do you remove the interior A pillar plastic. I removed the two screws and tried pry it off and it won't budge. I don't know if somebody used silicone on it or I'm missing something but it feels as if it will crack if I pull any harder. ??

There is a screw in the top trim around the side window, it is in the comer towards the windshield.
It is best to loosen the kick panel. The trim is slipped into the top of the panel.
