I'm still in the process of figuring out what ultimately I want to do to my 68 Barracuda. My latest wild idea is can am independent rear suspension from a Charger or Challenger fit under the Cuda. Is there a good IRS that will fit and be able to bolt up to a 6.1l Hemi and take some abuse? At a quick glance it looks like the rear track of the Cuda is 55.6" and the Charger is 63.1. I know it's close but is there anything closer?
 
Cobra Mustangs 03 and 04 I think.... But, if you use an LX center section I don't think the expense of custom length half shafts would be that much.
 
I don't think anything will bolt in. I think all are wider than a body. You better have fab skills and deep pockets to make one fit.
 
'90 Thunderchickens were 59" from tire sidewall to sidewall, used the 8.8" center section, and were attached to a cradle that bolted to the frame. You would need to add upper spring cups and shock mounts along with the cradle mounts. IIRC there were 4...
