Is this a good ignition combo?

I want to upgrade the stock points-type ignition on my 318 and decided I might as well go all the way and get a nice MSD-type Capacitive Discharge setup. Here's what I picked out on Summit:

The E-Spark plus HyFire isn't bad, but the coil's the wrong type for a CDI ignition. Try this coil:

Also, a little tip if you're looking to cut expenses: This ignition box appears to be a repackaged Mallory Hyfire for a little less money.

When I looked on the Mallory website it said that coil would work fine with the HyFire 6A box (although a Promaster would be better). I would get that Summit box too, but I don't really like the idea of a Summit-brand part (plus I like the bright red look too).

Ok, I took a closer look at Mallory's site and it looks like that coil would work - looks like I misread Summit's warning the first time around.

Summit generally doesn't build their own parts - it's pretty certain they actually buy their CDI boxes from Mallory.

Probably the same warantee on both pieces anyways..

Summit has a good rep. I'd trust it.
