So, I've had my 71 Demon in the shop almost a year (Covid slowed process) upgrading the top end of the stock 72' 318 engine with cam/lifter/intake kits and aluminum manifold and re painted it. Replaced the 3 spd with a 518 47 4 spd overdrive RH Exner racing tranny , AND replaced the 7.25 rear end with Strange Dana 60 3.73 gears and disc brakes. My mouth waters every time the shop texts me photos.
The thing is, the gas tank is kinda ugly and rusty, So I figured replace it since the rear end looks so nice and shiny, but when I look at the picture of the car lifted (Old photo, pre upgrades), the tank doesn't look like the replacement ones online. The replacement ones have a dent for spare tire, yet the one on my car looks square. What do you guys think?
I attached a few pics of work getting done, but pay attention to the tank and dont forget the full rear end pic is pre upgrades and not same shop. Thanks fellas.
