Is this valve body different?

I can't tell for sure from the pic, but it looks to me like the check ball on the spring is about to go thru the plate. If it is, replace the plate.

I did, but I had a cracked exhaust manifold and I didn't want to drive it too much, but It shifted into second fine when I went around the block. It does seem to be leaking somewhere near the front however.
