what are your opinions on "built" transmissions, and any recomendations on where to have one built or purchase one already done. I'm looking for a manual forward pattern 727

I just got one from Cope Racing Transmissions and I have to say it is a great tranny. The owner John is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable guys I have ever spoken to and he builds a mean tranny. You really get what you pay for so just suck it up like we all did and get a good tranny built.

I don't mind paying for a good tranny,I just want to make sure I get one that will live up to my expectations. I appreciate your opinion on crt,and am hoping to get replies about other companies as well. How well will the crt unit hold up to cruising weekly with a 4500 dynamic convertor, 4.89 gears on a spool, and the occassional trip to the strip? And when I say cruising, I'm referring to up to 75 miles one way to a show or cruise in, not just the few laps around a small town. thanks again

Ask around the Mopar guys you know who they recommend. You might run across somebody who does it as a sideline. Usually can get a good deal from them. If not, see what shop most people recommend. Don't just go out of the Yellow pages.
