Jack, I don't know if this helps, but we pulled the valve covers tonight on the 383 and found a bent push rod with the lifter out of the bore. replaced the lifter into the bore and threw a new pushrod in and presto. Pressure!

Good to hear you got pressure in your 383. I wish I could solve my problem that easy. I have the intake off and all lifters are where they should be.

I am going to pick up a new gauge today and see if that is the problem.

Jack, when I primed my stroker before firing it I looked for oil on the rockers and then turned it 90* by hand and started priming again. I repeated this until I had turn the motor 720* and had oil to each of the rocker shafts. I'm kind of anal now about first time firing motors, burned myself more than once because I got in a hurry.
