I dropped my 340 block and "X" heads off at Rinaldi and Sons machine shop in Skowhegan, Maine on Wednesday. This blower engine is finally under way to becoming a reality. The parts are getting the full treatment and I should have the parts back in about 6 weeks. Then I can assemble it and buy a 6-71 for it. This is a good feeling.

Any idea yet where you're getting the blower from?

I have been talking to Rick Dean at Dean's Blowers. He has a good rep and his prices are better than the big shops. If I happen to fall into a real good deal on a used setup, I may go that way. I am trying to do this on the cheap, (or not at top dollar anyway), so you never know what will come up. So far I have less than $1000 in this but that does not count the machining which will more than double the bill so far.
