My '65 Dart came with no jack. Was wondering if a modern scissor jack will work if I use it only under the front or rear bumpers? Or should I look for correct year jack? What do you all use?

I use a small hydraulic Jack, I don't like or trust bumper Jacks. and not the bottle type either.

A scissor jack will work for flat tire install, if used under the frame. Never trust any tire jack, to get under the car. Make sure you have a lug wrench that fits your lugs, and enough leverage.

Use a sissors jack under the frame rails, close to the wheel but on a flat surface. I would trust it more than the old bumper jacks that sometimes slip down. Get a jack from a similar weight car. I have used one from my 4 cyl minivan. Don't place any jack on sand or mud or it can tip over. My Mopar minivans have a short stud to fit the head of the jack onto, to assure its location.
